Creating start-ups is like arranging a puzzle. It does not happen overnight; there is a lot to consider, plan, and do. Scrum is one of the methods to compose those many puzzle pieces. So, what is the difference between Scrum and other methods when starting a new business?
Seterhen Akbar Suriadinata, the Founder and Core Partner of Labtek Indie, provided his insight at a virtual event organized by The Greater Hub SBM ITB (22/09/2021). As the speaker, Seterhen Akbar Suriadinata or known as Saska, a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Pilot/Tech activist, shared his experiences with the scrum method.
Scrum is a framework to create products based on the “value-driven” mindset. With limited budget and time, first, we must know how to make our product attract consumers. Next, we make periodic improvements using iterative and incremental principles to provide the best value for users.

“If the analogy is a home building project, sprint flow is like the instalment. We prepare the materials, then we focus on the living room first, followed by the dining room, and the others,” said the man who graduated from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB)

The scrum team has three roles: the product owner as a client representative, the scrum master as a member representative, and the scrum team as a technician who develops the product.

At the end of the meeting, the interactive event, attended by over 300 tenants of The Greater Hub and the Indonesian Student Micro-Credentials Acceleration (KMMI) Bootcamp directed by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, opened a question and answer session about the scrum method.
