Small Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in West Java participated in a coaching clinic by graduates students of the School of Business and Management (SBM) ITB. This activity that The Greater Hub coordinates have been up to Batch 6.
Dina Dellyana, the Director of The Greater Hub, said that the coaching clinic that has run for six batches is inseparable from the continuous support from partners, such as LPDB, KNPI Jabar, Blibli.com, SBM ITB, and MBA ITB, as well as other partners who will be mentors in coaching clinic activities batch 6″. The coaching clinic conducted aims to help SMEs from West Java and Indonesia in developing their business. This activity will last for approximately three months from October to December, with several main activities such as daily coaching, monthly class, and legal consultation. It will end with evaluation activities to be held on December 17, 2021.
This activity will be mentored by partners and final-year students of MBA ITB who will share their knowledge with West Java SMEs. “There are four focus areas that will be trained by mentors: marketing, operations, finance, and human resources,” said Dina Dellyana while opening the Opening Coaching Clinic SME West Java Batch 6 event, Thursday (30/9/2021)
The Vice Dean of Academic Affairs of SBM ITB, Aurik Gustomo, added that the coaching clinic activities are expected to build competitive insights and cooperation between SMEs amid a pandemic that poses a high risk to the business. So, SMEs can quickly take opportunities and decisions in developing their business. In addition, this activity develops a learning ecosystem that allows SMEs from all over Indonesia to continue to learn to develop every business owned.
West Java KNPI strongly supports this coaching clinic in developing young people in West Java. West Java KNPI has concerns about providing digitalization insights to West Java youths in developing products and businesses. This concern is based on the fact that West Java has approximately 12 million youths, with 60% of them living in the village. Usually, the youths in the city are workers, but the ones in the village start building their businesses with the available resources.
“Hopefully, West Java KNPI, together with this coaching clinic activity, can train West Java youths to develop their business as a form of utilization of demographic bonuses in Indonesia”, explained Ridwansyah Yusuf as Chairman of KNPI West Java.
On the other hand, LPDB also greatly appreciates and supports every coaching clinic held by The Greater Hub in developing every SME in West Java. LPDB itself is a working unit under the Ministry of Cooperatives of Indonesia.
Jarot Wahyu Wibowo, the representative of LPDB, explained that the focus of LPDB is to restore cooperatives in Indonesia. However, this is certainly not only about cooperatives but also developing a platform for SMEs to consolidate and build young troops engaged in the economy. This focus is triggered by the fact that Indonesia faces many problems around SMEs that require direct assistance or mentoring from experts.
On the other hand, especially in terms of mentors, Yunieta Anny Nainggolan, the Head of the MBA ITB Program, appreciates the collaboration in building the business of SMEs with MBA ITB final year students. She added that every student would give their best effort for this activity. So, SMEs in West Java can develop their business well amid the covid-19 pandemic.
