Bachelor of Management study program SBM ITB held a “parent meeting“ for the class of 2023 international business. The event was opened by Vice Dean of Academic, Prof. Dr. Aurik Gustomo, S.T, M.T and brought by Dr. Eng. Nur Budi Mulyono, S.T., M.T., the Director of the Bachelor of Management program, and Nila Armelia Windasari, Ph.D., the Director of the International Relationship Office (IRO) on Saturday (11/12/2021).
Conducted at the Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung and via Zoom Meeting, this agenda aims to socialize the third-year program of the international business to students and the parents at SBM ITB.
Aurik Gustomo, in the opening, mentioned the different learning models between regular and international students. International business students have 12 credits aimed to develop a global mindset.
“Overall, SBM ITB students are educated to have a growth mindset. However, specifically for international business students, we add and enrich their competencies with a global mindset,” said Aurik Gustomo.
Aurik continued, to develop a global mindset among international business students, SBM ITB facilitated the students with double degree and double exchange program. In addition, the students also have the opportunity to meet with visiting professors from top universities. For example, there will be a visiting professor from Erasmus University, Netherland, next semester.
Aurik emphasized that from the beginning of its establishment, SBM ITB tried to build an international academic environment so that students could compete with world-class universities. “The international academic environment is an important aspect that we build at SBM ITB,” highlighted Aurik.
Furthermore, Dr. Eng. Nur Budi Mulyono, S.TM.T, explained detailed information regarding the double degree program from university partners. Nur Budi mentioned that, currently, SBM ITB has collaborated with top universities in Asia, Europe, America, and Australia. The list of universities for the double degree programs includes:
- Hull University Business School, United Kingdom
- University of Groningen, Netherlands
- Rennes School of Business, France
- IESEG School of Management, France
- University of Queensland, Australia
Then, Nila Armelia Windasari, Ph.D., explained an exchange program that aims to enable students to learn in one or two partner universities for a year. Nila revealed that currently, SBM ITB has 63 partner universities, and 44 of them have exchange programs for SBM ITB students. The university partners for exchange programs include the University of Seoul, Lund University, Birmingham City University, Boston University, Kochi University of Technology, Yamaguchi University, University Putra Malaysia, etc.
To join the double degree and double exchange programs, students should meet the requirement of GPA, Study Plan, Course at SBM (no-fail courses at SBM and passing a minimum of 96 credits), and IELTS. Students should also organize a consultation with an academic advisor and international relations officer regarding the option for the university.
