The Greater Hub held a webinar entitled Get to Know: Product Development Strategy. The event was attended by the participants of The Greater Hub incubator, with Adjie Wicaksana, the CEO of HaloFina as the speaker, Monday (21/2/2022). Halo Fina itself is engaged in financial technology, focusing on wealth and personal financial management. Designed for millennials in Indonesia, Halofina is a pioneer in Digital Financial Advisory.
Adjie also gave an example of using Halofina for users in his presentation. “Halofina is on a mission to help our customers manage their money better,” said Adjie in his initial presentation about HaloFina, which OJK supervised.
In his presentation, Adjie presented an example of Halofina case regarding product design and development to build products that fit the market in today’s digital world. He explained there is no need for a methodology to create an innovation: customers will not want to know the mindset you use. Furthermore, Adjie also explained a method to get everything, namely by not following anyone; everything will make sense if we start with the word “why.”
“Good processes serve you so you can serve customers. But if you’re not careful, the process could become the product,” Adjie quoted Jeff Bezos as saying. According to Adjie, knowing why we start a business is critical: why and what we are against. This is due to customers with a strong desire, ten times more competition, and technology that develops and changes rapidly. So, as someone who starts something, Adjie suggested to combine things needed in the world by humans.
“This is the time to think like a designer,” said Adjie. Just like the difference between Architects and Developers in creating and developing a house in the business, so should a businessman start his business. Of course, we are not the one who imitates, but innovate through the Design Thinking process. Adjie then closed his presentation by exposing the mindset of “customer first” and including quotes from Steve Jobs, “It’s not the customer’s job to find out what they want.”
