Ts. Dr. Raden Aswin Rahadi, ST, MM, M.B.A., was shocked when he was included among the 16 SBM ITB researchers recognized as the top researchers in the world according to the A.D. Scientific Index. Raden has published over 180 scientific articles in journals and conferences, focusing on real estate and property management.
Raden is grateful to be recognized globally, especially amongst other great researchers he has worked with, such as Togar M. Simatupang and Prawira Fajarindra Belgiawan. “I have high hopes for SBM., as an institute of development, and I wish this has set the standard for the future of SBM.,” stated Raden.
Before his acknowledgment as a top researcher, Raden began his education by pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering, majoring in Architecture Engineering in SAPPK ITB. After graduating, he worked in P.T. Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk as a Jr. Business Development Manager. While conducting and reviewing preliminary designs, Raden was interested in real estate and property management.
Raden later did an M.M. degree, majoring in Management at Universitas Swiss German Serpong, and M.B.A. degree, majoring in Business Administration, at the Fachhochschule Konstanz – Hochschule fur Technik, Wirtschaft und Gestaltung, Germany. He then did his Ph.D. in Management Science at SBM ITB and graduated cum laude.
Before becoming Assistant Professor of SBM ITB, Raden worked in Northstar Pacific, where he was also “one of the first employees.” For more than 11 years, he worked in RA+ Consulting as a Managing Partner before promoting to a Senior Partner. Now, Raden is a full-time Assistant Professor at SBM ITB, teaching, tutoring, and supervising undergraduate students’ final year projects.
Dr. Raden’s strongest field of study includes real estate and financial marketing. He has influenced his students to pursue their thesis topics following their interests instead of forcing them to write other topics.
“There are two conditions I impose on my students. First, they must publish their work. Second, they must be responsible for their work,” said Raden.
Raden believes that there is no such thing as a “stupid study” and that all forms of study are beneficial in their terms. He wants the students to be proud of what they have produced and is willing to assist them along the way.
Within his busy schedule and hectic workload, Raden finds peace and relieves stress by playing guitar, indulging in food blogging, and playing computer games in his spare time. In his college years, Raden picked up a guitar, and he became a qualified music instructor. Occasionally, he plays basketball and golf.
“Instead of one goal in life, try milestones,” said Raden. He believes that setting one extraordinary goal in life can make you feel empty once achieved. Therefore, clarifying new milestones and reflecting on life every five years is a must. Looking back at his incredible achievements, it is no doubt he is destined to achieve far greater things.
