SBM ITB officially started the SBM mini program with PT Tangkas Cipta Optimal (TACO) (20/10). The kick-off was marked by the signing of the collaboration, which was attended by the Dean of SBM ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ignatius Pulung Nurprasetio, M. SME, and HR Vice President TACO Irwan Dewanto.

This is the first program implemented by SBM ITB with very high enthusiasm. There were 169 participants, and 60 participants were selected to take part in the learning.

“The initial selection for administration consists of collecting the required documents. “Continued with a profile test selection from TACO,” said Tazkia and Ariel, two participants who passed to participate in this program.

The SBM ITB Mini Program is a collaborative program between SBM ITB, an educational institution, and PT Tangkas Cipta Optimal (TACO), an industry partner with SBM ITB. This program was launched as part of SBM ITB’s concern for inclusive education and a form of care.

“We, as a business school with AACSB accreditation, are promoting societal impact programs, how our existence can be socially beneficial for society. “Especially for underprivileged communities so they can get access to quality education and job opportunities in competitive companies,” said Prof. Pulung.

According to Prof Pulung, two points can be emphasized in this Mini SBM. First, there will be upgrading from the participants’ side; their competition and their bargaining position can increase, so they can enter the job market with a relatively better position in terms of economics and skills. Second, there is a mentor who will help the learning process become more active.

“Brightening the nation’s life is the duty of all parties, and here, TACO wants to contribute,” said Irwan Dewanto.

Irwan explained that this collaboration began with discussions with Donald Crestofel Lantu, S.T., MBA, Ph. D., one of the SBM ITB teachers. TACO is a private company engaged in interior solutions. During its production, TACO has never laid off employees during the pandemic, and all its operations use local resources. This reflects that TACO has a good commitment both internally and externally.

This program will be implemented for approximately 12 months, with six months of online learning with the best teachers at SBM and six months of internship opportunities with TACO. In the process, the learning curriculum is prepared with both parties to suit industry needs.

SBM ITB hopes that there will be more similar events with different partners in the future. So that SBM ITB can provide access to higher and quality education to more parties.

“We can look for more partners later,” said Donald Lantu.
