Artificial Intelligence (AI) is predicted to replace many human jobs and cause unemployment worldwide. Ria Anugria, a senior auditor, even said that the financial auditor profession is one of the jobs that AI advances.
When delivering a public lecture titled “The Benefits and Impact of AI in Work and Business” to undergraduate students majoring in Entrepreneurship at the SBM ITB, class of 2025, in Bandung (16/11), Ria emphasized to students the importance of not succumbing to pessimism regarding the growing presence of AI, which is increasingly affecting workers and business professionals. Ria highlighted that, in her role as an auditor, AI has significantly facilitated her tasks. Encouragingly, Ria pointed out that AI still struggles to make accurate decisions, mainly when dealing with human emotions.
Ria advised that as potential leaders and business owners, SBM ITB Entrepreneurship students must always innovate and pay attention to technological advances. The reason is that many businesses have to go out of business because they do not apply technology in their processes.
Nevertheless, Ria warned of the negative impacts of technology. A lot of data is misused by hackers, resulting in loss of business and jobs. Therefore, we must always keep our data safe.
Ria concluded there is no need to be overly concerned about the prevalent news suggesting that AI will replace numerous jobs. Instead, we should focus on continuous learning, keeping pace with technological advancements, and fostering innovation. In reality, humans are intricate beings possessing intellect and emotions. The feelings remain a challenge for AI to replicate.
