In the era of Industry 4.0, data has evolved into a valuable asset, surpassing the significance of oil and gas. Consequently, adopting innovative and adaptive thinking is crucial when venturing into digital business development.
Addressing students, Danrivanto Budhijanto, an Associate Professor in Cyber Laws at the Department of ICT LAW and Intellectual Property, Padjadjaran University, delineated how the current industrial revolution distinguishes itself from its predecessors, with digitalization seamlessly amalgamates and expedites all facets of life. During a guest lecture on Business Ethics at the SBM ITB on Friday (24/11), he urged students to stay attuned to digital advancements.
“Previously, acquiring equipment required a trip to the market; now, a shopping application suffices. Everything is becoming more abstract; be prepared,” advised Danrivanto.
He underscored artificial intelligence (AI) as a pivotal milestone in digital development, citing examples of companies like Facebook, TikTok, and Microsoft that have ascended to market leadership through big data and AI.
Danrivanto emphasized that Indonesia must concentrate on capitalization and monetization in business while staying abreast of technological trends to compete globally. This, he asserted, presents opportunities for students to contemplate profitability and innovation.
In the current digital economy era, Danrivanto stressed the significance of data. He asserted that the ability to process data is a valuable asset and will take precedence in the future.
While acknowledging data as a valuable asset, Danrivanto encouraged students to delve into the intricacies of digital law. According to him, understanding Cyberlaw 5.0, encompassing Big Data, Blockchain, IoT, AI, and Biometric 5G, is the key to attaining digital sovereignty in Indonesia. Such knowledge is vital for ensuring companies’ cybersecurity, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding data to prevent misuse.
