Leaders must transition from traditional leadership styles to more collaborative approaches in modern business. The ability to craft compelling narratives is crucial, much like how Harvard University students often develop narratives that resonate globally.
This perspective was shared by Syauqi Robbani, Harvard alumnus, Founder and Chairman of Edelweiss Hospital, Kreativa Global School, and CEO of CAN Investment, during a public lecture at the SBM ITB on Monday (19/8).
According to Syauqi, West Java’s significant potential, with a population of 48 million people, is hindered by a high unemployment rate. He stressed that a deep understanding of macroeconomics is crucial to navigate this challenging landscape and prepare for an uncertain future.
Syauqi explained that leaders need to be adaptable to various issues, such as politics, power dynamics, beliefs, and conflicting interests. These challenges are often more complex than technical problems and require changes in values, beliefs, roles, and approaches.
“How can we design a system that effectively addresses the problem at hand? Who are the key stakeholders we need to engage? What are the prevailing beliefs within our organization?” Syauqi’s questions underscore the importance of collaboration and the need to overcome fear to achieve shared goals and objectives.
