Bayu Trinoto, Founder and CEO of Bandung Digital Telemedia, highlighted that TikTok and Instagram have become two highly popular social media platforms. With their rising popularity, these platforms provide significant benefits for brands by increasing visibility and reach. To achieve good visibility, however, content must be grounded in a compelling concept—a creative idea that captures audience attention.
Bayu shared these insights during a guest lecture for the Master of Business Administration program at SBM ITB, on Monday (10/14). He discussed strategies for creating high-quality content that engages social media audiences and effectively supports marketing goals.
According to Bayu, creative ideas are essential for captivating audiences on social media. First, each piece of content should be unique, standing out from and surpassing other content. Second, originality is critical, which can be achieved by adapting previously published content in fresh ways. Third, content must be interesting, with a strong hook and a memorable conclusion. Fourth, it should be recognizable, familiar, and aligned with current trends. Finally, effective execution on social media is crucial; incorporating these elements can help content successfully attract audience attention.
Bayu also noted that both internal and external factors should be considered in content creation. Internally, content should be rooted in the brand’s products and ideas, using communication methods that resonate with social media audiences. Externally, content should reflect appealing themes and visual styles that are likely to engage viewers.
He provided additional tips for achieving reach and engagement on social media, emphasizing the importance of high-quality scripts, clear objectives, and well-thought-out typography and descriptions. Specifically, visuals, artwork, photos, fonts, and text placement should all be carefully crafted to draw in the audience.
Effective scriptwriting should be informed by target audience research and an understanding of the content’s unique selling proposition. Well-written scripts can drive social media growth and improve conversion rates.
Bayu added that social media and product advertising work hand in hand to boost content, product, and brand visibility. Leveraging public figures, current news, trends, and market demands are effective strategies to attract and hold audience attention on social media.
