Before gaining insight, it is essential for individuals to first comprehend hindsight. This means that achieving a deep understanding requires knowing and reflecting on past events.

Many business professionals often overlook this concept; they desire to solve problems quickly and forget the significance of prior experiences. As a result, they may rush to create solutions without fully understanding the context of the issues at hand.

Dwi Purnomo, a lecturer at Padjajaran University and the founder of Design Thinking Academy Indonesia, shared insights during the Artha Sandbox workshop in Bandung on Wednesday (26/2). He provided valuable tips for business professionals on how to innovate and achieve growth in line with their goals.

The Artha Sandbox is a program organized by the Entrepreneurship Student Association (IMK “ARTHA“) at the School of Business Management, Bandung Institute of Technology.

Dwi emphasized that a product is considered successful when it benefits people. Ultimately, what we offer is a solution, not just a product.

Dwi encourages business people to distinguish between output and outcome. For consumers, the outcome is what truly matters, rather than the output. The “result” or product is what drives consumer usage. In contrast, output only refers to the product itself. Therefore, to foster creativity, businesspeople should prioritize outcomes over output.

Additionally, Dwi emphasizes the importance of collaboration with various parties to accelerate business growth. Businesses that engage in partnerships are more likely to grow.

Dwi provided examples of various brand collaborations, such as Tahilalats x Onepiece, where both brands exchanged their markets. Exponential progress can only be achieved if followed with integrity and good intentions.
