The Greater Hub has reopened its startup incubation program batch 18 at the Freeport Building, Labtek XIX, SBM ITB (27/2). A total of 16 startups were selected to participate in this program.

They will participate in mentoring sessions every Thursday for three months. The program will be closed with a pitching session, which prepares them to face investors at the Bandung Pitching Day event.

In this batch, the incubation focuses on six leading startups that receive more intensive mentoring. Greater Hub is a business incubation program routinely held twice a year.

Director of Greater Hub, Dr. Dina Dellyana, congratulated the startups that have been selected to participate in this program. Dina emphasized the importance of Objectives and Key Results (OKR) in determining the startup’s direction early on.

“OKR helps businesses become more focused and clear in achieving their goals. This will also be very useful for evaluating your future startup development,” said Dina in the opening of The Greater Hub Batch 18.

This incubation program consists of five main curricula, with mentoring being one of the most significant aspects. Dina highlighted the importance of participant engagement in attending mentoring sessions to maximize their benefits.

“You need to be proactive in connecting with expert mentors. Don’t just wait for them to reach out; take the initiative yourself. Securing the opportunity to meet these mentors isn’t easy, so make the most of it by preparing your questions in advance,” she explained.

Dina highlighted the eFishery case as a crucial lesson for developing startups. She emphasized that the value of a startup goes beyond mere numbers.

“If you only focus on numbers without clearly defined values, startups can lose their direction. It’s important to concentrate on building strong value and not to become too attached to the initial product, especially if it isn’t sustainable. Continue to innovate and adapt to market needs,” she said.

Dina emphasized that a startup is success depends on the founder’s strong and never-give-up character. The founder is the most important element in a startup.

“They must embody the spirit of GRIT, which is the ability to bounce back after failure and continue trying,” Dina concluded.

With this spirit, Batch 18 of Greater Hub is expected to produce startups that grow rapidly and can survive and adapt within a dynamic business ecosystem.
