SBM ITB will hold the 6th International Conference on Management in Emerging Markets (ICMEM) from 11 August 2021 to 13 August 2021 online and can be accessed via https://virtualfair .itb.ac.id. This year, the committee specifically invite three ministers and keynote speakers representing academia, government, company or business representatives and the community to discuss and generate ideas in dealing with problems related to business management. Thus, it will contribute to providing current relevant solutions for today’s issues.
The Chair of the ICMEM 2021 Committee, Meditya Wasesa, said that this year’s conference theme is “Nurturing New Business Landscapes to Embrace the Next Normal”. Indonesia International Conference on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Small Business (IICIES). This conference is organised in conjunction with three other major conferences: the International Graduates Colloquium (IGC), the Swiss Innovation Challenge (SICA) and the Indonesia International Conference on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Small Business (IICIES).
ICMEM 2021 is also supported by Yamaguchi University – SBM-YU International Joint Laboratory of Technology Management in Emerging Countries, MDI Ventures Telkom Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, and Universiti Teknologi Mara, a co-organising partner.
Meditia added, “ICMEM 2021 has succeeded in gathering more than 313 scientific papers, of which 242 were selected to be presented and 71 to be presented in three days of conferences. Parallel sessions are divided into 19 track chairs: Behavioral Decision Making, Business Risk and Finance, Consumer Behavior, Marketing, Strategy and Consumer Studies, Operations and Performance Management, People and Knowledge Management, Sustainability and Innovation, Strategic Management, Advertising, Sales and Branding, Entrepreneurship and Business Model Innovations, Sustainability, Service Marketing, Transportation, Business Model, Technology Commercialization, Service Science, Big Data and Business Analytics, Energy, Impact of IT/IS in Business and Management. There are also six parallel presentation sessions at this three-day conference, with the leading session chairs in their fields. There are also three poster exhibition rooms with three live discussion sessions with the authors”.
ICMEM 2021 will be opened by the Dean of SBM ITB, Prof. Utomo Sarjono Putro, and ITB Chancellor Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah.
On the first day, the keynote session will present Drs. Teten Masduki, the Minister of Cooperatives & SMEs, followed by the first panel discussion in the morning and the second panel in the afternoon. The discussion panel invites academics, industry practitioners and government institutions.
The discussion on the first day covers six speakers, namely Prof. Benny Tjahjono (Faculty Research Center for Business in Society, Coventry University), Fajrin Rasyid B.Eng (Telkom Indonesia), Prof. Wawan Dwanto (School of Business and Management, Bandung Institute of Technology). In addition, Prof.Dr.Suhaiza Zailani (Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya), Prof. Eric Van Heck (Erasmus University Rotterdam), and Nicko Widjaja BA., MBA (BRI Ventures).
On the first day, participants are also invited to join the refreshment activities: Healthy Cooking Class by Devina Hermawan and Guided Mindfulness Practice by Pudjiastuti Sindhu – Yoga Leaf. The theme on the first day of the conference is “The Next Phase for Sustainable Business Model”.
The conference theme for the second day is “How Technology is Changing the Business Landscape to Face the Next Normal”, with the keynote speech by Prof. Kazuhiro Fukuyo (Yamaguchi University), and panel discussion by DR. GN, Sandhy Widyasthana, PMP (MDI Ventures), Nila Armelia, PhD (School of Business and Management, Bandung Institute of Technology), Seno Soemadji, SE., Ak., MBA (Accenture), Neneng Goenadi, B.Eng. , MBA (Grab Indonesia).
On the second day, the participants are invited to participate in the ‘Meet the Editor Panel Session with the Journals’ Editorial Board. The editorial board consist of Affiliate Assistant Professor Amy A. Kim, PhD- University of Washington Civil & Environmental Engineering – Editorial Board Member – Journal of Management in Engineering, A/Prof Sherah Kurnia, PhD – The University of Melbourne – AE Information and Management, Meditya Wasesa, PhD – Bandung Institute of Technology – ME AJTM.
This discussion provides tips and tricks to publish papers in reputable international journals. In the afternoon session, participants, mostly lecturers, are invited to join the Webinar session on Utilising Technology in Creating Online Learning Materials with online learning design experts from RMIT Online Australia, Anitra Nottingham and Marcelo Zerwes.
On the last day of the conference, the theme is “How to Strengthen the Collaboration in the Post Pandemic Business Ecosystem”. With the keynote speaker Dr Ir. H. Suharso Monoarfa, the Minister of National Development Planning (Head of Bappenas) and panel discussion speaker Prof. TPr.Dr. Jamalunlaili Abdullah (MARA University of Technology), Ir. Ahmad Yuniarto (Pertamina Geothermal), and Prof. Ajai Gaur, PhD (Rutgers Business School). In addition, there are also Yos Sunitiyoso, PhD (School of Business and Management, Bandung Institute of Technology), Dr William P. Sabandar (President Director, Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Prof. Ian Williamson (the University of California, Irvine (USA)).
On the third day of the conference, participants meet virtually and discuss through a virtual networking room. They are also invited to the fun workshop: Guided yoga Practice by Pudjiastuti Sindhu – Yoga Leaf.
The conference will be ended by an archipelago dance, best presenter award announcement, the closing keynote speech by Dr H. Sandiaga S. Uno, BBA., MBA, the Minister of Tourism & Creative Economy, and officially closed by Professor Kuntoro Mangkusubroto (School of Business and Management, Bandung Institute of Technology), the Chairman of the School Governing Council School of Business and Management.
The participants will also visit simultaneous programs: a series of parallel presentations from the International Graduates Colloquium (IGC), judging and workshop sessions for the Swiss Innovation Challenge (SICA) and the Indonesia International Conference on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Small Business (IICIES) webinar.
