Profile
Dr. Dzikri Hakam -Zik- has a distinguished academic and professional background, holding a PhD in Energy Economics and a Master's degree in International Oil and Gas Management from the University of Dundee's Centre for Energy, Petroleum, and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP). He also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and holds the Insinyur (Ir) title from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). In addition, he pursued advanced studies in Islamic Economics and Finance, earning a Postgraduate Diploma from Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education in Dundee, equivalent to a Master’s degree. Dr. Hakam further enriched his expertise by attending an intensive academic program in Applied Microeconomics at the University of Cologne.
Dr. Hakam has been recognized for his academic achievements with accolades such as the Chevening Scholarship, LPDP Award, Best Student Award, and Al-Maktoum Bursary Award.
Professionally, Dr. Hakam has amassed over 18 years of experience across diverse roles, making significant contributions to industry and academia. He has served as a Wireline Engineer at Halliburton, Analyst at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Senior Researcher at PLN Research Institute, Expert at PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara), and Senior Lecturer at Institut Teknologi PLN (ITPLN). Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at SBM ITB, where his research and teaching focus on energy economics, finance, and sustainability.
In academia, Dr. Hakam’s research has been published extensively in high-impact, Q1 Scopus-indexed journals, including the Journal of Sustainable Finance and Investment, Energy Strategy Reviews, Utilities Policy, Sustainable Futures, Heliyon, Sustainability, Energies, Economies, Cleaner Energy Systems, and Cogent Business and Management. His additional publications include works in Development and Sustainability in Economics and Finance, Iranian Economic Review, International Journal of Energy Economics and Policy, and International Journal of Data and Network Science. He has also presented his work at international conferences, including those organized by the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) and IEEE.
Dr. Hakam is an active member of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). He is also the Chief Editor of the Asian Journal of Technology Management (AJTM).
Dr. Hakam is a committed peer reviewer for international journals and conferences, ensuring the advancement of scholarly excellence. His research interests encompass Energy Economics and Finance, Islamic Economics and Finance, and market design, with a focus on net-zero carbon strategies and energy transitions. His work seeks to harmonize sustainable development with economic and financial strategies.
