The Ballroom of the Intercontinental Hotel, Bukit Dago Pakar Bandung, once again witnessed the lively SBM ITB Graduation Celebration for October 2023. The celebration on the second day, on October 29, 2023, was attended by 457 graduates from the Master of Science in Management, Masters of Business Administration, and Doctor of Management Science.
The second day of the celebration began with a traditional dance performance, remarks from the Dean of SBM ITB, a video showing the graduates, a graduation ceremony, and an inspiring speech from the Chair of the ITB MBA Alumni Association. This event also featured awards given to the best graduates and graduate speeches and ended with a group photo session.
On the second day of this celebration, there were 31 graduates from the Master of Science in Management program, with 15 of them graduating cum laude. In addition, there were 179 graduates from the Master of Business Administration program at the Bandung campus, with 66 of them graduating cum laude. Besides, there were 240 graduates from the Master of Business Administration program at the Jakarta campus, with 92 graduating cum laude. Finally, there were seven graduates from the Doctor of Management Science program, with five of them graduating cum laude.
Chair of IA MBA ITB 2021-2025 Rangga Muslim motivated the graduates. “Today, we should not only think about what we want to achieve but also the positive impact we want to create.”
He encouraged the graduates to strive to create positive change and have a sustainable positive impact on society.
Various awards were also given to the best graduates in each category. In the Doctor of Management Science study program, the Academic Achievement Award was given to Batara Parada Siahaan. Meanwhile, in the Master of Science in Management study program, the Outstanding Achievement Award was awarded to Carissa Tibia Walidayni and the Young Scientist Award to Cintia Nurliyana.
From the Jakarta MBA program, the Inspiring Leader Award was awarded to Weni Levin Richardson Blegur, Best Young Entrepreneur Award to Fauziyah Annur, Best Young Professional Award to Raissa Samara Natalia Siregar, Inspiring Leader Award in Energy Management to Rahardian Aji Saputra, Best In-House Leader Award in MarkPlus Marketing Strategy to Noski Pandapotan Samosir, and In-House Leader Award for Best House in Sustainability to Joyanta Chakraborty. From the Bandung MBA program, the Best Young Professional Award was honored to Meliana, and the Best Creative and Cultural Entrepreneur Award to Shintya Rahmi Utami
This Graduation Celebration left a deep and extraordinary impression on all those present. Veronika Hutasoit, a 2023 Bandung MBA graduate, expressed her feelings after the graduation ceremony. “I am thrilled to have graduated today. It is a relief after completing a challenging MBA program,” he said.
Daniel Karim, a Doctor of Management Science graduate, shared his gratitude after four years of doctoral studies. “Studying at SBM ITB is a challenging but rewarding experience for me as an academic and lecturer.” Daniel hopes that collaboration between students will continue even after graduation.
Meanwhile, Carissa Tibia Walidayni, recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award, also felt relieved after officially graduating. “I hope that after this, I can start a professional career, especially in research, and have a positive impact on society,” said the winner of a perfect 4.0 GPA and research publications in Scopus Q1.
Carissa’s parent, Arief Nurdjaman, who accompanied her, spoke about the role of parents in supporting their child’s educational journey. “As parents, we must always support and update the targets and challenges faced by our children, and of course, we hope for the best in the future.”
This celebration officially closes the series of graduation events for October 2023 at SBM ITB. Hopefully, all graduates can start a new journey that has a positive impact on society, and SBM ITB can continue to produce superior graduates who contribute to the nation.
