Rendy Aditya Wachid, an architect who founded Parongpong Recycle And Waste Lab, revealed that his motivation for establishing Parongpong stemmed from his role as a father. Rendy aims to create a comfortable environment for future generations, which drives Parongpong’s creation.
“Establishing Parongpong is part of our endeavor to foster a better world, where waste can be transformed into valuable resources,” said Rendy during his guest lecture on Business Model and Product Innovation at the SBM ITB Auditorium in Bandung (19/3).
Rendy also shared the remarkable success story of Parongpong Recycle And Waste Lab, now valued at USD 60 million. The business handles 1000 tons of waste annually, making a significant contribution to mitigating the negative environmental impacts of waste.
Emphasizing the philosophy underpinning Parongpong Recycle And Waste Lab’s success, Rendy stated, “There’s no such thing as waste; it’s merely material awaiting utilization and revitalization.”
Among Parongpong Recycle And Waste Lab’s innovations is the implementation of the Digital Traceability System (ESG), which allows customers to trace the digital footprint of every product produced, ensuring transparency and high product quality.
Rendy also provided insights into successful business strategies, such as processing cigarette butts into valuable materials. “As competition grows, we see an opportunity to become suppliers to these competitors,” he wisely concluded, reflecting the company’s vision to lead the recycling and waste management industry.
Rendy Aditya Wachid’s presence as a guest lecturer at SBM ITB inspires students and exemplifies that businesses focusing on product innovation and environmental sustainability can achieve extraordinary success.
