120 micro-enterprises supported by the Mikro Mandiri program, under the Deputy for Micro Enterprises of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs lead by Dr. Yulius MA and The Greater Hub at SBM ITB, have successfully passed the curation process after undergoing training and selection.
“Out of 706 applicants, we conducted sharing sessions, training, and mentoring programs, resulting in the selection of the top 120 micro-enterprises ready to collaborate and expand their markets and financing. These selected micro-enterprises are spread across various regions in Indonesia,” said SBM ITB Business Incubator Coordinator Dina Dellyana in a statement on Monday, August 26, 2024.
Dina mentioned that the program is designed to help micro-enterprises enhance their marketing and financing access through various methods, including sharing sessions, marketing and financing training, offline and online mentoring, and business meetings in hybrid formats. “Participants in this independent micro-enterprise mentoring program come from sectors such as culinary, fashion, crafts, beauty, and agriculture/plantation/livestock/fisheries. They are highly enthusiastic about participating in this extensive program,” she added.
These 120 MSMEs are undergoing an online training program led by practitioners from their respective fields, focusing on maximizing sales channels, business planning, and budgeting. The six-week program aims to provide hands-on guidance to help participants optimize specific sales channels. “Each MSME will receive direct mentoring to maximize their chosen sales channels,” Dina explained.
In addition, MSMEs will also receive guidance in preparing business plans that can be used for financing applications and will be connected with their desired financial institution partners. The Mikro Mandiri Mentoring Program 2024 is an initiative of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, under the Deputy for Micro Enterprises, to assist micro-enterprises in overcoming challenges such as limited entrepreneurship understanding, business legality, product quality, as well as low innovation and restricted access to financing.
“Through intensive mentoring, this program aims to enhance the capacity and competitiveness of micro-scale MSMEs,” Dina stated. The program is expected to make a significant positive impact on the growth and development of micro-enterprises across Indonesia. Yulius also expressed optimism about the outcome, “Hopefully, after completing the program, participants will be able to access markets and financing that are both effective and impactful for their businesses.”
