The outbound event for new Master’s and Doctoral students in Management Science, held in Pangalengan, Bandung Regency, on Wednesday (11/9), fostered solid bonds and improved teamwork skills. Organized to mark the start of the academic year, the event took place at Mount Puntang. It featured various engaging activities to promote solidarity and personal growth.
Dr. W. Victo Anggara Wisesa, S.Hum., MM., Chair of MSM and DSM Program, stated that the outbound program was carefully designed to prepare students for the rigorous demands of their studies. The activities were tailored to enhance critical thinking, analytical abilities, and teamwork.
“By combining exploration, problem-solving, and goal-setting elements, we aim to equip our students with the necessary tools to excel in their academic journey and future careers,” Wisesa said.
Wisesa also highlighted the importance of soft skills for academic success. While the SBM ITB curriculum provides a strong foundation in management science, developing interpersonal and communication skills is equally crucial.
“The outbound program provides a unique opportunity for our students to form lasting relationships with their peers and learn to collaborate within diverse teams,” he added.
Student feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Agus, a doctoral student, expressed his enthusiasm for the event.
“The outbound program is a fantastic way to meet fellow students and build community. The activities were challenging yet enjoyable, and I felt refreshed and energized afterward,” Agus shared.
Tara, a master’s student, initially had reservations about participating.
“But I enjoyed it. It was a great way to bond with my classmates and get to know them personally. I learned a lot about myself and my team during the activities,” she said.
Oliwia, an international student from Poland, was impressed by the location’s natural beauty and the participants’ positive energy. She described the outbound program as an incredible experience.
“I loved exploring the natural environment and connecting with my classmates. This was the perfect way to start my journey at this university,” Oliwia said.
