As part of their final exam, SBM ITB students majoring in entrepreneurship must create a business model and pitch it to several investors. First, they were asked to create a business pitch deck, including the product research, MVP (minimum viable product), and TAM (total addressable market). Next, ten chosen businesses presented their business pitch during a zoom session with investors, who are all Harvard Business School alumni.
The investors include the founder and director of Aren Energy Toronata Tambun, VP in Mountain Kejora Ventures and CEO of Propan Kris Adidarma, alumni of Harvard, Oxford, and MIT Ali Kusno Fusin, director of QNB Indonesia Nick Groener.
Students were given a short time to present their pitch deck to the investors, followed by questions and evaluations. The ten businesses chosen were Aphrodite – Hypoallergenic Jewelries, Damaga – Non-Invasive Glucosemeter, Wrap It – Reusable Food Wrappers, Hikery – Hiking Equipment Rental Platform, and S-Lean – Democratization of Paid Internship Programs in Startups for University Students. Besides, Antriin – Queueing System for Business Owners, Lavica – Waste Management System, Leggo – AI Powered Personalized Travel Planner, Med-Ease – Online Platform for Hospital Services and Det-Urgent – Eco-Friendly Detergent.
These businesses vary in terms of readiness. For example, some of them presented their product prototypes and simulations. Some others had already prepared products ready to be launched and sold in the market.
Overall, this event allowed students to experience pitching their business idea to possible investors, which they might experience after graduating from SBM ITB.
