Universities need to recognize the significance of entrepreneurship education in the era of digital transformation. This education is intended to provide entrepreneurial skills to prepare students to face the professional world by using digital technology.
“Campuses must work together with their stakeholders by strengthening cross-sectoral collaborations, which also involve ministries. Entrepreneurship is an area that we highly support.” The statement was delivered by Acting Director-General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Prof. Nizam, during the launch of the Entrepreneurial Marketing MBA (ENMARK) program, a collaborative program between the ITB School of Business and Management (SBM ITB) and MarkPlus Institute, on Saturday (26/02/2022).
Yudo Anggoro, PhD, the Director of SBM ITB Jakarta Campus, agreed with Prof. Nizam. He explained that SBM ITB has consistently instilled an entrepreneurial mindset in developing its programs. “The ENMARK program is an innovative program at SBM ITB Jakarta Campus. By focusing on entrepreneurship and marketing, students will have opportunities to deepen their business skills at MarkPlus and other industrial partners,” Yudo added.
Furthermore, Dr. Jacky Mussry, the CEO of MarkPlus Inc., added that the marketing aspect of this program would be viewed in terms of creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership. “Creativity must produce technically visible ideas,” Jacky stated.
Dr. Arief Yahya, a representative of an entrepreneurial leader who attended the online program launch, emphasized the importance of platform value in collaborations by providing business illustrations. “When Apple developed the iPhone, they had the DNA in mind. But further thinking led to the idea that making a device required an ecosystem. Who do I want to join and work with?” The illustration was brought up by the Managing Director of PT Intermedia Capital. He also emphasized the importance of informed decision-making and fast execution, similar to Amazon’s agile nature in making swift decisions in a competitive market.
