SBM ITB successfully concluded the Sadulur MSME Mentoring Program on Tuesday (29/10), in Bandung. The event, attended by 12 MSMEs, aimed to enhance the capacity of business actors through workshops and focus group discussions (FGDs).
A key focus of the program was the introduction of the SMART Goals concept. Through an interactive workshop, participants learned the importance of setting Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound goals for their businesses.
At the beginning of the workshop, many MSMEs admitted they were unfamiliar with the SMART Goals framework. However, the program emphasized how adopting SMART Goals could help MSMEs become more focused and strategic in achieving their business targets.
Participants actively engaged in practicing the SMART Goals methodology by completing templates provided during the workshop. A group discussion followed, where participants reviewed their proposed goals to ensure alignment with the SMART criteria and realistic implementation.
The workshop continued with an action plan session, where participants were guided to develop concrete steps to achieve their goals. This approach aims to help MSMEs operate more systematically and effectively.
The event’s highlight was an FGD, where participants delved deeper into the aspirations and challenges faced by MSMEs. This interactive session encouraged participants to share experiences and provide valuable insights for developing the MSME ecosystem in West Java.
“We aim to build a robust and sustainable MSME ecosystem,” said Dr. Santi Novani, a Lecturer in the Decision Making and Strategic Negotiation Expertise Group at SBM ITB and the mastermind behind the Sadulur Program. “Through this FGD, we hope to gather critical input from MSME actors to inform future improvements.”
Participants expressed enthusiasm and gratitude for the program, praising the practical value of the material.
“This activity has been incredibly beneficial for me,” said Ani Ratna, owner of UMKM Kembang Kamonesan. “I’m eagerly looking forward to the continuation of Sadulur’s initiatives.”
The Sadulur Program remains committed to supporting MSMEs in West Java by fostering an impactful MSME ecosystem. Moving forward, the program plans to expand its reach and collaborate with various stakeholders, including the government, media, academics, practitioners, investors, banks, and MSME owners. This collaboration aims to elevate MSMEs to the next level of development.
